During the residency, I explored the essence of cycles from an individual perspective. Before arriving, I had been working with the visual language and logic of water, specifically waves, to represent these cycles. At ekwc I simplified the wave patterns into a single drop, and its centering ripples. A singular drop of water led me to navels; the origins of “things”, but also the centering forces such as the calmness of the center of a storm.
